2019-2020 Mite Evaluation Registration
by posted 02/21/2019

Registration for our 2019-2020 Watertown Red Wings Mite Evaluations are now open

Tryouts will be held at Mays Rink at The Taft School

Monday March 4th 6:00pm-7:00pm

and

Tuesday March 5th 6:00pm-7:00pm

Evaluation fee will be $60

Members of the WYHA Board of Directors and Coaches will participate in the evaluations.  The number of Mite teams will be directly related to the number of registrants for the evaluations.  We ask that all children attend both evaluations if possible.

There may be times, at the WYHA Board discretion, where a determination is made that a player would be better suited in our Jr. Red Wings (Learn to Play) program.  If so, you will be notified after the evaluations when that program will begin.  In addition, there may be rare instances where the Board feels that a player's development may be better suited to play at the Squirt level.  If that happens, we would notify the player that we would like them to attend Squirt tryouts (once announced).

Please note that you cannot “elect” to try out for a different age group.  If your child is Mite age, he/she MUST tryout as a Mite and await the results from the evaluations

***DON’T FORGET***

REFER ANY NON WYHA FAMILY TO OUR MITE TRYOUTS, AND IF THEY REGISTER, PAY, AND ATTEND TRYOUTS, YOU WILL BE CREDITED $50 PER REFERRAL (maximum 5) TOWARDS YOUR 2019/2020 WYHA FEES

CT JR EAGLES GIRLS REGISTRATION LINK & TRYOUT INFORMATION

CT JUNIOR EAGLES GIRLS TIER 1 U16 & U19 INFORMATION

We are pleased to announce that WYHA’s CT Junior Eagles will once again be part of Connecticut Tier 1 Hockey.  Our unique approach to how we run our Tier 1 teams has been very well received.  There will be no major changes from our model that we have run over the last three years!  We will continue to focus on player development, player exposure, and be 100% in sync with the players High School teams.   We will remain “100% High School friendly” and focus on being highly competitive and getting the girls ready for their High School season!!   School AWLAYS comes first!!

Our season will begin with a Tournament in June

We will play in the Beantown Tournament in July

We will play in the Mid Fairfield Tournament in August

We will of course have our now famous overnight weekend in Shelton (Weekend in August TBD)

We will play the Ironbound / MFF Showcase over Labor Day Weekend in Northford

Then it's Sunday games / practices until Thanksgiving

We have not, and have no plans to attend any tournament that conflicts with School.  We focus on letting the students be students and allowing time for kids to be able to relax on weekends.  That is what make our model special and we will continue to operate that way

All practices will be professionally run by IPH Hockey and ProCrease Goaltending.  Remember our focus…………player development!!  Practices will normally take place on Sunday mornings from the start of school through mid-November when we don’t have games.  After that, we break for the girls High School seasons – depending on our success in Regionals we may pick up after

>>This year we may also be involved in the East Coast Wizards Holiday Invitational (U19's are set U16's still TBD) which takes place between XMas - New Years in MA<<

****TRYOUT DATES AND TIMES****

Tryout fee is $100 -- TRYOUTS WILL BE AT THE RINKS IN SHELTON

U16's Sunday 4/14 8:15am-9:35am & 4/28 1:00pm - 2:20pm

Fees will be set at $1450 (extra cost for Jersey/Socks if you need them approx. $150).  As stated, if our season goes beyond Regionals, we will add additional practices/games as we see fit and then divide up the additional cost.

Last year, our Eagles represented over 13 different schools.  This year we hope to make it even more!  If anyone has any questions, or would like to be put in contact with any of our past parents to hear their opinions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me at Silverman910@gmail.com

Thank You – Steve Silverman
