Update On Disabled Hockey Initiative
by posted 12/03/2017

First Day of Disabled Hockey Initiative

The initiative started by one of our CT Jr Eagles U19 girls players, Caeley Smith has now been underway for several weeks.  The program, which is being run under the Watertown Youth Hockey banner, along with partnership with Taft has been received very very well.  We have many volunteers from our Girls U19 & U16 teams, and their Taft teammates.

There is ALWAYS the need for more donations of equipment (which can be left in the "red box" at Mays rink).  While we have started with small numbers, based on the feedback of the participants (and especially their parents) this will be a program that continues to grow.  If you know of anyone who may want to join the program, please have them get in touch with Caeley Smith.  Her email is 127smith.c@gmail.com

Below is an email from Caeley

Dear Watertown Youth Hockey Families,

Thank you so much for your generosity. The donations that I received from you have allowed for children who typically aren't afforded the opportunity to participate in team sports be a part of a hockey program. The families that are a part of this program and I are so grateful for your generosity. Without your help, these children would never get to experience the joy that comes with being on the ice. All of your donations have made a huge difference in the lives of these children! I truly appreciate all of your help with my program!  I welcome any additional donations and hope that if you know a child that would benefit from this, that you put them in touch with me.
Happy Holidays and Thanks Again,
Caeley Smith
